An 20-year-old woman sustained fatal injuries late Saturday night when she crashed into a telephone pole in the 30000 block of Hasley Canyon Road in Castaic.
Coroner’s officials identified the victim as Devon Murth of Castaic. According to her Facebook profile, she attended West Ranch High School and transferred to the Hart District charter school Opportunities for Learning, where she graduated in 2009. She said she attended the Newberry School of Beauty and was employed with Sinfull Angels, an adult entertainment company that manages dancers.
A report from the California Highway Patrol said at 11:42 p.m., Murth was driving westbound on Hasley at a high rate of speed.
For an unknown reason she lost control of her gray 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and her driver’s side door slammed into a telephone pole near a mobile home park just east of Romero Canyon Road. Road conditions were reported as clear and dry.
CHP Officer Patrick Kimball said Murth’s vehicle also reportedly collided with a horse corral, and residents reported Sunday that it struck one or more mail boxes.
Murth was pronounced dead at the scene. She was the only occupant of the Jeep, and it was the only vehicle involved in the collision.
Hasley was temporarily closed early Sunday. Edison crews were called in to determine whether the pole was operable.

In the signal newspaper it said she was not wearing her seatbelt. So unfortunate. Maybe it could have saved her life. Rest in peace =[
