On March 10, 2017, the City Council Legislative Committee reviewed the draft platform and recommends that the City Council adopt the Santa Clarita 2017 Legislative Platform.  This document will provide guidance to staff on legislative and regulatory issues of interest to the City Council and assist staff in conducting legislative advocacy at the federal and state levels.

On February 17, 2017, Assembly Member Dante Acosta (R-38) introduced Assembly Bill 1172, which authorizes the California Transportation Commission to relinquish to the City of Santa Clarita all or any portion of Sierra Highway.

8. SECOND READING OF AN ORDINANCE FOR THE REAUTHORIZATION OF CITY PUBLIC, EDUCATIONAL, AND GOVERNMENT ACCESS (PEG) FEE COLLECTION AUTHORITY UNDER STATE LAW

The PEG fee is equal to one percent of the operators’ gross revenues on video services. Fee can solely be used to support Public, Educational and Government Access channels.

10. AWARD CONTRACT FOR VIDEO SURVEILLANCE EQUIPMENT UPGRADE AT THE MCBEAN REGIONAL TRANSIT CENTER AND THE TRANSIT MAINTENANCE FACILITY

Award contract to All Systems Go, Inc. for the procurement and installation of upgraded facility surveillance camera system equipment at the Transit Maintenance Facility (TMF) and the McBean Regional Transit Center (MRTC).

11. AWARD CONTRACT FOR BUS SERVICES FOR USE BY RECREATION AND COMMUNITY SERVICES PROGRAMS

Transportation services are needed for several Recreation and Community Services programs including Camp Clarita, Junior Lifeguards, Canyon Country and Newhall Community Centers, and Vital Intervention through Directional Alternatives.  In order to provide for the transportation of program participants, bids were solicited from bus service providers.
