1906 - L.A. County accepts Mr. H.C. Register's bid to build (Old) Newhall Jail for $2,237 [story]
Old Newhall Jail

sheriffpatchDeputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Crime Prevention Unit, along with deputies assigned to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Crime Impact Team and a Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station detective conducted a multiple location parole-probation compliance operation during the early morning hours Thursday. All of the locations were in the Val Verde area of unincorporated Los Angeles County.

This operation is part of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff Station’s ongoing proactive efforts to ensure that convicted criminals living in the Santa Clarita Valley including the unincorporated areas are in compliance with the terms and conditions of their probation after release from jail.

One location was found to be out of compliance. During a check of a residence located in the 29600 block of Hunstock Street, Val Verde, deputies contacted brothers, Jose Jimenez and Daniel Jimenez. During a check of the residence deputies found items such as a firearm, ammunition, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia. Both were subsequently arrested. Both are alleged gang members.

These types of operations and others just like it will continue throughout the year to ensure that convicted criminals remain in compliance with their conditions for parole or probation. Criminals who choose to break the law and are caught will be arrested.
