Rosedell Elementary school in Santa Clarita reported a power outage on campus Wednesday morning.
The power outage was thought to be caused by a squirrel that chewed through one of the power lines, according to Joan Lucid, Saugus Union School District Superintendent.
“Edison is at the school right now, and apparently a squirrel caused the power outage,” said Lucid. “They are working to fix the problem right now. All the students’ parents have been contacted by phone or email, and school is still in session.”
There are currently no details as to how long the power outage will last, but Edison employees are continuing their work.
Rosedell Elementary will continue with its early release time that was previously set for Wednesday.
From Saugus Union School District:
Rosedell School will be in session tomorrow, Thursday, September 12, 2013. Edison will provide generators to the school tomorrow. They will continue to work at making the necessary repairs to restore the power.
