A group of Santa Clarita Valley residents and members of local churches are set to work together to serve Golden Valley High School in LoveSCV’s first “Serve Day,” Saturday, April 6 starting at 9 a.m.
The nonprofit LoveSCV seeks to continue bringing organizations into a relationship with our schools because there are so many resources, donations and volunteers available to help our schools and fill the gaps where needed.
“This simple campus beautification project at Golden Valley is one more small step in furthering those connections and bringing resources and volunteers to our schools, anywhere there is a need,” says LoveSCV Executive Director Susan Christopher.
“Of course, as a former school board member and long-time advocate for our valley’s schools, it means a lot to be able to continue bringing resources and help to our schools,” Christopher said. “It’s so exciting to see all organizations that can help willing to jump in. It’s equally as exciting that our schools are willing and open to receiving that help, even from faith-based organizations that come with no strings attached and lots of love and resources to offer.”
ProjectSCV and Golden Valley High have led the way in proving how successful, and how needed, these connections are.
ProjectSCV has been serving the needs of all students at Golden Valley through the creation of the PAWs resource center, especially those students with the most needs.
This has been an extremely successful partnership connecting outside, faith-based organizations that desire to serve the needs of students and schools in our valley, no strings attached, through donations and other resources.
LoveSCV hopes to continue bringing more of those connections and resources to our schools.
A short rally and orientation will take place at 9 a.m. in front of the school. Work on campus will begin by 9:15 a.m.
