On Tuesday, Dec. 1, the International Animated Film Association announced the nominees for the 43rd Annual Annie Awards, which honor achievement in the art of animation.

Leading the nominations with 14 and 10, respectively, are two Disney/Pixar films, Inside Out and The Good Dinosaur—both of which were directed by CalArts alumni.

Inside Out, which focuses on how a young girl navigates a new city, house and school with the “help” of her emotions (Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness), was written and directed by Pete Docter (Film/Video BFA 90) and Ronnie del Carmen. The just-released The Good Dinosaur, which follows the journey between a dinosaur and his young human companion, was directed by Peter Sohn (Film/Video BFA 99) and written by Sohn, Erik Benson, Meg LeFauve, Kelsey Mann and Bob Peterson.

A number of other CalArtians were nominated for film and television projects in both the Production and Individual Achievement categories. Below is a list of CalArtian nominees:
