The city of Santa Clarita and county of Los Angeles presented checks totaling $700,000 to Homes 4 Families in showing their support for the housing for CalVet families.
The Sept. 21 check presentation started off with a flag salute by State Senator Scott Wilk.
Shortly after, Supervisor Kathryn Barger received a plaque in recognition of her support for veterans.
Another plaque was presented to Santa Clarita Mayor Pro Tem Laurene Weste.
After the speakers, the county Board of Supervisors presented Homes 4 Families a check for $350,000.
Councilmembers Bill Miranda, Bob Kellar, Marsha McLean and Mayor Pro Tem Weste also presented another check for $350,000 to Homes 4 Families.
Totaling $700,000, these generous donations will help build the remaining homes in the Calvet Veterans Village of homes in the Centre Pointe area of Santa Clarita.
