The County Department of Parks and Recreation (LA County Parks) kicked off its summer pool season Saturday, June 8, with the opening of twenty-nine pools for free recreational swimming. LA County Parks also released its special events and 2019 summer program guide, P&R Magazine.
The LA County Parks summer season is here, and the activities will be heating up along with the weather. There will be many opportunities for the public to stay cool and enjoy the variety of aquatic recreation with their family and loved ones. Along with the pools, the Department has recently opened the Splash Pad facilities. Another major attraction opening this season are the three lakes located at Castaic Lake State Recreation Area, Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park and Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area.
There are many exciting events that provide safe and plentiful entertainment for all ages. Programs like the Concerts in the Park series offer an evening of music outdoors and are a sure way to get everyone on their feet, dancing. A variety of bands from different genres are scheduled to hit the stage. Likewise, Movies in the Park will offer family films and showcase exciting flicks.
Other activities include 4th of July special events, summer camp, ESTEAM, and the
Jr. Golf Program. Click here to view detailed information on specific special events and for the summer program guide, P&R Magazine click here.
