
Newhall: Crime Report – Week of May 30, 2016
The following crimes were reported last week:
05/30/16
Grand Theft Auto – Valle Del Oro / Dockweiler Dr.
Person(s) unknown stole the victim’s vehicle (1996 Honda Civic 4-door, gold) while parked at the location. The vehicle was later located in LAPD’s district.
05/31/16
Grand Theft Auto – 24900 block Walnut Street
Persons unknown stole the victim’s vehicle (2002 Ford E250 Van, white) parked at the location.
06/02/16
Assault with a Deadly Weapon – 24500 block Pepperidge Road
The suspect and his brother got into an argument which escalated into a physical altercation. The suspect left the location prior to deputies’ arrival.
06/03/16
Petty Theft – Market Street / Newhall Avenue
The suspect was sitting in the victim’s vehicle when she grabbed a prescription pill bottle from the center console and then ran in an unknown direction.
Summer Public Safety Tip
As the Fourth of July weekend approaches, as a reminder, it is unlawful for any person to handle, give away, sell, offer for sale, solicit the sale of, manufacture, possess, purchase, use, ignite, explode, fire, or otherwise discharge any fireworks within the city of Santa Clarita according to Section 9.60.030 SCMC. Fireworks may cause burns, injuries and fires. Violators can be held responsible for damages, as well as having to pay a fine and/or go to jail.
