Saugus: Crime Report- Week of May 30, 2016
The following crimes were reported last week:

05/30/16

Vehicle Burglary-28900 block of Garnet Canyon Road

Deputies responded to a vehicle burglary call. A caller had reported that suspects were seen breaking into vehicles parked on the street. The suspects were located by responding deputies and arrested. The suspects had ‘stolen items’ from recent vehicle burglaries in their possession.

05/31/16

Residential Burglary-29200 block of Orion Drive

The victim said that she left her garage door unlocked. An unknown person entered her garage and went into an unlocked car parked in the garage. The victim’s wallet, containing her credit cards and identification, was stolen and the credit cards were later used at several locations.

06/03/16

Commercial Burglary-23800 block of Copperhill Drive

The suspects shattered the front window of a business to make entry. Once inside, they stole a laptop and a cash register.

06/05/16

Petty Theft- 27600 block of Bouquet Canyon Road

Suspect stole an electronic toothbrush from a store and was detained by loss prevention personnel outside location pending deputies’ arrival. The suspect was arrested for shoplifting.

Public Safety Tip- Summer and Fireworks

The 4th of July is quickly approaching, and our city is looking forward to celebrating. But residents need to know that we are currently in a serious drought, and fire risks are high. ALL FIREWORKS ARE ILLEGAL IN THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA. Deputies from the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station will be enforcing firework laws throughout the city. The fines for these offenses could cost you several hundred dollars. Instead of worrying about fines, come out to a city event. Our city puts on some great, professional firework shows. Bring some chairs, some refreshments and have a good time!
