HandsOn Santa Clarita will be hosting their 2nd Annual 5k/10k at Six Flags Magic Mountain. The run/walk will support HandsOn Santa Clarita’s mission to connect volunteers to critical issues facing the community – such as hunger, homelessness and environmental issues.
HandsOn Santa Clarita’s 5k/10k will take place at Six Flags Magic Mountain on Saturday, December 20th. Runners and vendors will show up starting at 6:30am with the program beginning at 7:30am. The 10k start is at 8am, and the 5k at 8:30am. Over 15 vendors, including: Rocktape, Whole Foods, SCV Little League, Advocare, Runners Lane, Jamba Juice and more. Presenting sponsor is Real Andrews with Advocare and major sponsor is Daniel Sterkel with Nissan of Valencia.
The fun run will have Santa, hot cocoa, and plenty of holiday cheer as runners/walkers are encouraged to come in their craziest costumes! The run will take place in conjunction with Six Flags Magic Mountain’s 1st Annual Holiday in the Park, which means runners will be running through a course that is decked out for the holidays. Hart High School dance team, and local cheer teams will be at the event cheering runners. Special appearances by the Laker Girls and Santa Clarita native, 5 time USA 800 Meter Champion Alysia Montaño. Each participant receives a medal, goody bag, and tshirt. HandsOn Santa Clarita (HOSC) has been essential in meeting the needs of the community by connecting thousands of volunteers to organizations every year through large scale service projects such as Make a Difference Day, and 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance.
