California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) presents “The Big Idea: Paths to Entrepreneurship,” an event on CalArts’ campus for entrepreneurs, creatives, those considering work in startups, and all enterprising individuals on Wednesday, February 8, from 6 to 9 p.m.

The panel consists of creative CalArts alumni entrepreneurs who will share insights into launching a successful enterprise, working in startups, and refining one’s vision along the way. Panelists are David Braun, Founder, Open the Portal; Harmony Jiroudek, Director of Academic Relations, Kadenze, Inc.; Leslie Scott, Founder and Creative Director, BODYART Dance; Tina Tangalakis, Founder, Della LA, and Robbie Nock, artist, designer, entrepreneur and Director of Alumni Relations at Art Center College of Design. The evening begins with a wine and cheese reception and a Q&A session will follow the panel.

The event will be in The Patty Disney Center for Life and Work, Rooms G201 & G202 at the California Institute of the Arts located on 24700 McBean Parkway in Valencia.

Part of the Patty Disney Center for Life and Work at CalArts, the HIVE (Hybrid Incubator for Visionary Entrepreneurs), presents workshops that are open to the community—providing creatives in all fields with the ability to build their entrepreneurial tool kits. The HIVE is designed to give CalArts students and alumni access to business and design thinking skills, while allowing them to work on an innovative idea, product, project, or business.
