Update: A house fire-turned-brush fire is fully contained, according to Los Angeles County Fire officials.
The Ridge Fire began as a house fire near southbound Interstate 5 and spread to brush near Lake Hughes Road in Castaic.
The fire burned about three acres total and was contained around 6:15 p.m., according to officials.

Los Angeles County firefighters are responding to reports of a brush fire that began as a house fire near the southbound I-5 north of Lake Hughes Road in Castaic.
The fire is currently at 15 acres, officials said. No injuries have been reported.
The report came in at 5:27 p.m.
A Sigalert has been issued for the I-5 South at Lake Hughes Rd Off-ramp with all southbound lanes closed for unknown duration due to fire.
Ed. Note: Fire officials requested the southbound lanes of the I-5 be shut down but CHP did not close the lanes.

Can you confirm the freeway is closed? Because I heard the fire department did NOT ask to close it.
We just spoke with fire officials, they say they did request the freeway be shut down but CHP did not shut it down.
