Fort Tejon State Historic Park offers a unique overnight hands-on Student Living History Program for 4th, 5th, and 8th graders.
We invite you to enroll your class in our one-of-a-kind learning experience. Take your students on a trip back in time to 1850’s California and experience the everyday life of a soldier stationed at Fort Tejon, a Western U.S. Army outpost.
The Spring season runs March through May. Overnight programs run for two days and one night, running Monday through Tuesday and Thursday through Friday.
A day program is also available. Please contact John Clagett at John.Clagett@parks.ca.gov or call (661) 248-7001 for a reservation form as soon as possible; reservations are made on a first come, first serve basis.
The park’s non-profit cooperating association, Fort Tejon Historical Association, is offering a limited number of bus scholarships to defray transportation costs. Title 1 schools receive first priority for SLHP bus scholarships but other schools will be considered. Additional scholarships are available for Title 1 schools to help with program fees.

Such a wonderful program! Went 3 years with my 4th graders.
This is such a FANTASTIC class. Our 4th graders can’t do it any longer and I am so sad. My younger 2 kiddos missed out on this experience because of budget cuts. Go if you can!!! Such a great time.
