Halloween Safety Tips:
Don’t send your kids out alone to trick or treat – they should be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Go through your child’s candy and inspect. Discard any wrapped homemade treats if you do not personally know the person that made them.
We recommend that children should trick-or-treat during daylight hours but if it gets dark and you’re still out there with them, have a flashlight and utilize light reflective clothing and/or strips that you can apply on costumes.
It’s a two-way street. Watch out for cars – never assume they see you. Use sidewalks, not streets for walking. Do not allow your children to run ahead and cross residential streets without an adult. And drivers, more important than ever not to be distracted when driving due to more kids near streets. Slow down and don’t even think about texting on your phone.
Be safe and have fun.
