1922 - Wyatt Earp's wife thanks William S. Hart for defending her husband's honor [story]
Wyatt Earp story

After serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (SVP/CFO) with Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital since 2001, C.R. “Bob” Hudson has announced he will be retiring in July 2017.

Since joining Henry Mayo’s Executive Leadership Team 17 years ago, Hudson has played a key role in the planning and implementation of the hospital’s master plan. His firm, steady management of the hospital’s financial operations has been critical in helping Henry Mayo expand to meet the growing healthcare needs of the Santa Clarita Valley.

“Bob‘s wise, no-nonsense style of leadership will be missed,” said Roger E. Seaver, President and CEO. “Bob has been a major team player during this exciting time of growth at Henry Mayo and I am proud to have had him as an integral part of our team.”

As SVP/CFO, Hudson guided Henry Mayo’s financial restructuring beginning in 2002– stemming from debts incurred associated with repairs related to the 1994 Northridge earthquake– into a position of financial stability. This work lead to increasing the hospital’s bond rating, and making possible the completion of major projects including the Sheila R. Veloz Breast Center; a community cancer program; Roberta G. Veloz Cardiac Catheterization Lab; Expanded Imaging Services; Wayne and Connie Spears Intensive Care Unit; Expanded Emergency Department; Operating Room Expansion and GI Lab Renovation; Advanced Primary Stroke Center; Parking Structure and Helipad; Kim and Steven Ullman Neonatal Intensive Care Unit; Expanded Cardiovascular Services; Akbar Hasan Infusion Center; STEMI Heart Attack Receiving Center; Henry Mayo Center and Simulation Lab; Cardiac Rehab Center; Underground Parking Structure; Henry Mayo Fitness and Health; and the new, six-story Patient Tower which is scheduled to open in 2019 and provide 142 additional hospital beds.

Hudson’s commitment to the hospital and the community was also evident by his involvement in numerous Henry Mayo charity events including playing a major role in the annual Toyota Drive Safe Golf Classic. He has been a regular supporter with both his time and money of Henry Mayo fundraising events and is a named donor for various Henry Mayo’s capital campaigns. He also has served on several local community boards and was involved in a variety of community events.

“Bob has played a substantial role in serving this hospital and the Santa Clarita Valley,” Seaver said. “We all wish him well in his retirement. He will truly be missed.”
