LBW’s CEO Mitzi Like and Account Executive Erick Stelnick pose with SDFHC CEO Philip Solomon (center) as LBW gives back Rubber Ducky Festival cash prize.

Whether you’d say it’s “Duck Season!”, “Rabbit Season!”, or just “‘Tis The Season!”, Samuel Dixon Family Health Centers received a welcomed surprise recently when they showed up to deliver a cash prize to the second place winner of their 16th Annual Rubber Ducky Festival.

The fundraiser took place in October and LBW Insurance and Financial Services had purchased several of the little yellow ducky entrants. At the end of the day, one of LBW’s little swimmers took second place which meant they were in line for a $1,500 cash prize.

On Nov. 9th, SDFHC’s Chief Executive Officer, Philip Solomon, arrived at LBW’s Valencia office with an oversized check in hand. As the pleasantries ensued between Solomon and LBW’s CEO Mitzi Like, an LBW staffer appeared with a large red pen. The “Payable to:” line was crossed out on the check and LBW’s name was replaced with SDFHC. Like was happy to inform Solomon that the check was being given back to the charity. LBW was happy to see the funds returned to the nonprofit whose mission is to provide services to Santa Clarita residents in need of healthcare, dental and mental health services
