The monthly meeting of the Los Angeles County Sheriff Civilian Oversight Commission will take place at the Metropolitan Water District office in downtown Los Angeles on Thursday, July 27 starting at 9 a.m.

The Board of Supervisors last year established the Sheriff Civilian Oversight Commission with a mandate to boost transparency and increase trust between communities and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Commission meetings are held once a month, and the public is encouraged to attend.

The Commission aims to provide robust opportunities for community engagement, ongoing analysis and oversight of the department’s policies, practices, procedures, and advice to the Board of Supervisors, the Sheriff’s Department and the public.
