1993 - Federal govt. declares coastal California gnatcatcher (bird) a threatened species [story]
Gnatcatcher

The Los Angeles Kings, who are sponsoring the Valencia Town Center skating rink, will be donating all proceeds from Friday evening, Nov. 22, to assist those affected by last week’s tragic school shooting at Saugus High School.

The proceeds raised will be directed to the Wm. S. Hart (WiSH) Education Foundation, as they direct the donation specifically to Saugus High School to support their immediate grief counseling efforts, and to establish a wellness center and program at the school.

The special hours for the event will be from 4:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

Kings Radio Play Announcer Nick Nickson, whose two sons attended Saugus High School, will be at the Town Center ice rink meeting fans and signing autographs from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

The WiSH Education Foundation is a local nonprofit dedicated to quality public education for all students. The Foundation funds programs and initiatives that go beyond what tax dollars provide and help elevate and prepare its students for life.

The Foundation has already added wellness centers to Canyon and West Ranch high schools.

For more information or to donate towards #SaugusStrong, visit www.wishscv.org.

Westfield Town Center is located at 24201 West Valencia Blvd, Valencia, 91355.
