On Saturday, The Master’s University women’s track and field team posted strong marks at the Rossi Relays.
In the 100 meter dash, Tess Thompson placed 37th overall in by finishing the event in 13.55 seconds, setting a new personal best along the way.
In the women’s 3,000m, Rachael Ingoldsby finished the event in 10:49.89, also setting a new personal best. Elsewhere in the 3,000m, Ariana Sciarra made her collegiate debut in the event and won her heat by clocking a final time of 11:06.47.
Commenting on Ingoldsby’s performance, TMU track & field head coach Zach Schroeder said, “Rachael [Ingoldsby] ran a fantastic race and demonstrated that she’s ready to qualify for nationals in the steeple chase at Ben Brown.”
Collectively, TMU posted a final time of 12:32.14 and placed fifth overall in the 4,000m Distance Medley. Schroeder further commented on TMU’s performance by saying, “I was also impressed with a fast 1200m leg out of Rylee Bishop in the women’s DMR.”
Commenting on the Lady Mustangs’ overall performance, Schroeder said, “Although this meet is a low key opener to the outdoor season for us, I’m excited about how the team is looking this early in the year.”
Next up for the Lady Mustangs is the Ben Brown Invitational. TMU will toe the line in a variety of events on March 11 in Fullerton.
