Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man that occurred on Thursday, February 2, 2017, in the 200 block of Nicobar Avenue, Lancaster.
Early this morning, February 3, 2017, Suspect Mario Jose Estrada, accompanied by several family members, turned himself in to Lancaster Sheriff’s Station.
Estrada was taken into custody and booked for Murder and is being held in lieu of 2 million dollars bail.
Lancaster Station deputies responded to a “person down” call on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at approximately 7:00 a.m. on the 44700 block of Division Street, Lancaster. When they arrived, they found a male Hispanic 35 years-old, suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead on scene.
Information gathered during the course of the investigation has led detectives to murder suspect, Mario Jose Estrada.
Mario Estrada is described as a male Hispanic 23 years-old, 5’8” tall, 150lbs, short brown hair, brown eyes, with a mustache and goatee. He also has the word “NANO” tattooed inside his bottom lip.
Estrada may be traveling with Jennifer Lopez, a female Hispanic 16 years-old.
The suspect is possibly traveling in a 2006 light blue, BMW SUV, license plate #6MWN447. The vehicle was last seen in Ontario on February 2, 2017, in the afternoon.
Suspect Estrada is considered armed, dangerous and knows he is wanted.

It’s a bummer that he’s thrown his life away just to murder someone. When I look at people who do such things I always think they must have had very poor parenting.
