Samuel Eisenhuth carded a closing-round 77 Tuesday to lead The Master’s University to a sixth-place finish at the NAIA AII Golf Championships at the Wigwam Golf Course in Litchfield Park, Arizona.
Finishing four places out of a spot that would have gained the Mustangs an automatic berth in the NAIA National Championships in May, the club watched the 2018 spring season come to an end.
“I love this group,” said head coach Jason Semelsberger. “I could not have had a better team to coach in my last season.”
The squad, which shot a combined 925 (61-over par) in the 54-hole tournament, may not be moving on to nationals but Eisenhuth might.
The senior, who finished in ninth place after firing an eight-over 224, has a chance to earn an at-large bid into the event as an individual.
“This will be determined by the tournament committee in the next week or so,” said Semelsberger.
