The city of Santa Clarita will install a new steel bridge to upgrade an older structure within the south Valencia paseo system at Alta Madera Drive between Cortina Drive and Serena Drive starting Monday, Jan. 9. Weather permitting, the pedestrian bridge across Alta Madera Drive is expected to be closed for a minimum of eight weeks. The construction project is part of the City’s efforts in upgrading the paseo infrastructure to maintain its high quality bridges and trails.
During the demolition of the existing bridge, Alta Madera Drive will be closed for a maximum of two days between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The assembly and installation of the new steel bridge will also require Alta Madera Drive to be closed an additional two days between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Residents should expect periodic construction noises, as well as detours for vehicle traffic along Alta Madera Drive during the removal and installation of the bridges.
Residents in the South Valencia Homeowners Association District will receive construction notices and door hangers detailing the project timeline. Signage will also be posted along the paseos and at the bridge crossing. Paseo users are advised to take alternate routes around Alta Madera Drive.
