A Princess cruise for two to any of Princess’ cruise destinations (up to $2,500 value), tickets to a taping of the CBS hit comedy, The Big Bang Theory, and a day in Sacramento with State Assemblyman Scott Wilk are featured on the list of items that will be on the auction block at the SCV Senior Center’s Celebrity Waiter Dinner, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 27, at the Hyatt Regency Valencia. The Fun and Games start in the lobby as guests begin to gather at 5 p.m., and continues in the dining room once inside doors open at 6 p.m.

The Sacramento trip includes airfare for two on Southwest Airlines and a private tour of the capitol, where guests will have their picture taken on the floor of the Assembly, The lucky auction winner will be transported by Special Services to a power lunch with Assemblyman Wilk at Frank Fats, the “in” restaurant for Sacramento VIPs, and will receive a special certificate of recognition.

The Big Bang Theory package includes two tickets to a show taping during the 2016/17 season, an autographed cast photo, DVDs of the show and a Warner Bros. Studio lot tour.

A number of unique trips, social events and exciting experiences also will be available for live auction at the event. Among the confirmed prizes are two nights at the boutique Hotel Corque and dinner at the Root 246 Restaurant in Santa Ynez, two-day rental of a Mustang convertible and several wine tasting opportunities in the Santa Ynez area, a whale watching excursion, a private plane ride from Agua Dulce Airport to Goleta Airport and return (including lunch at a restaurant near the Goleta Airport and a bottle of wine from Reyes Winery upon the return to Agua Dulce), a limousine or party bus excursion for up to 20 guests from 24/7 Events, an exclusive rental of a Mamba Motorsports Slingshot for a weekend, and an up-close-and-personal barbecue party for up to 30 guests at the Sand Canyon home of Santa Clarita Mayor Bob Kellar.

Theater and dining experiences will include season tickets to the Canyon Theater Guild in Downtown Newhall, two tickets to five upcoming performances at College of the Canyons’ Performing Arts Center, dining gift certificates to Le Chene French Cuisine, An Indian Affaire, Bonefish and Sabor, and dinner for two at The Vines. Additional theater and restaurant items are still being confirmed. COC PAC performances include Seventeen Samurai on March 17, Swing It! On March 25, The Heights on April 29, John Montgomery on April 14, and a jazz concert on May 13.

A Sports Lover’s Package will include four tickets to the Los Angeles Dodgers’ opening day game against the Diamondbacks, golf at a local golf course, and more sports-related tickets and gifts still being confirmed. The Westin Mission Hills Golf Resort is donating an overnight stay plus two rounds of golf.

The Santa Clarita Main Events package will include tickets for two to some of the community’s most prestigious non-profit and community events—including Vine to Wine, Gentlemen for a Cause, The Wine Affair, Sunset in the Vineyard, Evening Under the Stars, Dancing With Our Stars, Lunafest women’s film festival, Taste of the Town and a wine tasting at Reyes Winery. The package also will include four VIP tickets to the Amgen Tour, Concerts in the Park and the SCV Cowboy Festival, plus more.

A boat trip around Ventura Harbor will include a full catered meal for four guests. As usual, bidders will have the opportunity to bid on the head table for 2017 Celebrity Waiter dinner, which this year will include the services of long-time Head Waiter winner Michel Delcros.

This year’s theme is A Night of Fun & Games, with Comfort Keepers In-Home Care serving as the presenting sponsor. Bill Lively once again will serve as event chair and master of ceremonies, supported by two new co-chairs: Vanessa Wilk and Brian Koegle. Sponsors already have committed to 24 tables, leaving only six available before the dinner reaches a “sold-out” capacity of 30 tables.

In keeping with this year’s theme of “A Night of Fun and Games,” Auctioneer Curt Waite is working on a surprise game that will give all guests a chance to win a valuable prize. Dancing to a live band, live entertainment and waiter antics are all part of the evening. More than 35 “waiters” have signed up to compete for the Stanley Award, which goes to the waiter who garners the most dollars in scrip “tips” during the evening. Several waiters already have started pre-event fund-raising activities to boost their chances of being named the evening’s Favorite Waiter.

Premium tables are available now and the committee already is nearing its goal to sign up 30 sponsored tables before this year’s dinner. Table sponsorships are available at levels ranging from the $10,000 to $5,000, $3,500 $2,500 and $1,500, each seating 10 guests. Individual seats can be reserved for $150 each, which includes $50 in scrip, which can be used to “tip” the waiter. Sponsors can provide their own “celebrity” waiter or request the committee to provide a waiter.

Table sponsors can select their own table theme, based on the Fun and Games overall event theme. The table décor matches the theme, and most guests dress in costumes to complement their table’s theme, making Celebrity Waiter “one of the most fun events in town,” according to Koegle.
