Old Town Newhall is kicking off the holiday season on Main Street with a Sip N’ Shop block party in late November.
On Saturday, Nov. 21 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., holiday shoppers can stroll up and down Main Street and enjoy wine tastings, appetizers, promotions and specials at popular local retailers just in time for the holidays.
Some participating merchants include Barn and Charm, By Invitation Only, Ceramic Artist Studio Inc., Closet on Main, Daily Harvest, Faking it Flawless, Honu Coffee, Lisa Duncan Interiors, Luscious Soul, Ma Maison, Pulchella Winery, Tribute Salon, Via Tucci, White Fig and more.
A complete list of participating merchants can be found on OldTownNewhall.com.
The city’s annual Light Up Main Street celebration will begin at 6 p.m. with festive dance and music performances from local groups, including William S. Hart High School and Santa Clarita Master’s Chorale. The Santa Clarita City Council will turn on the lights around 7 p.m. to transform Main Street into a winter wonderland.
The street will be adorned with thousands of lights and a 23-foot Christmas tree in front of the Old Town Newhall Library.
In addition to the stunning light display, holiday enthusiasts can also enjoy food trucks and the chance to take a commemorative photo with Santa and Mrs. Clause.
This year, the American Cancer Society will be providing the community an opportunity to remember their loved ones by purchasing a golden luminaria bag. Bags will be available for a $15 donation, or a $10 donation when accompanied by a canned food item. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go directly to the American Cancer Society. Volunteers from the American Cancer Society will line Main Street with the illuminated bags.
Free public parking for both the Old Town Newhall Sip N’ Shop and the Light Up Main Street celebration will be available at the Old Town Newhall Library, the Metrolink Station and at several public parking lots on and around Main Street.

Is this the 15th as shown on the flyer? Or the 21st as mentioned in your update?
It is the 21st, we accidentally used an older photo – we will update it now. Sorry for the confusion!
