Funeral services for Caltrans worker Jorge Lopez, who was killed on the 14 freeway earlier this month, have been arranged for Friday.
The services will be held September 16, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the city of Sylmar.
Motorists should expect 15 to 30 minute delays on local streets for the procession of Caltrans vehicles that will be escorted by the California Highway Patrol.
Jorge Lopez was killed on September 1, 2016 when he was struck by a big rig on State Route 14 in Los Angeles County. He is survived by his wife Leticia and three adult children. Mr. Lopez served the state of California for 16 years as an electrician and is the 185th Caltrans employee who lost his life on the job.
Motorists may experience delays beginning at 9:30 a.m. on the following streets:
– San Fernando Road
– Polk Street
– Glenoaks Boulevard
– Laurel Canyon Road
At approximately 12 p.m. after the completion of the services, the procession will drive on eastbound I-210 and westbound I-118 to the cemetery.
