The American Diabetes Association Los Angeles announced that Culinary Wonders Cooking Studio will offer a series of demonstration and hands on cooking classes based on the association’s dietary guidelines and approved recipes.
The fee-based classes will be held on Saturday, Aug. 27 – Living with Diabetes; Saturday, Sept. 10 – Parent and Child; and, Monday, Sept. 26 – Hands on Adult Class. The studio is located at 23460 Cinema Drive, Suite B in Valencia. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Association.
“We are very excited to be partnering with Culinary Wonders in our efforts to prevent and manage diabetes here in Santa Clarita,” said Laura Kirchhoff, Development Manager-Fundraising & Special Events for the Association. Culinary Wonders will teach participants how to cook delicious meals for both adults and children that meet the dietary guidelines of the American Diabetes Association and are all ADA approved recipes.
“As the saying goes, you are what you eat,” said Chef Herve from Culinary Wonders. “Eat right starting with fresh ingredients, then you’ll know what you put into your body is good for you.”
“While nutrition is a key factor in preventing and managing diabetes in children and adults, it does not mean that you cannot enjoy flavorful, fun and delicious meals. Participants in these classes will also learn how to take their traditional family favorites and cook them in a more healthful way,” Kirchhoff added.
