The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics released its list of Scholar-Teams for 2017-18 on Friday with The Master’s University squarely in the mix.
Ten teams from Master’s earned the distinction given to squads that manage cumulative GPAs above 2.9.
In order of academic prowess, those teams were: men’s golf (3.62), women’s basketball (3.42), women’s cross country (3.42), women’s track (3.42), women’s volleyball (3.40), men’s cross country (3.38), men’s track (3.30), women’s soccer (3.26), baseball (3.18) and men’s soccer (3.06).
The case for men’s golf was built on its seniors, Josh Delo and Sam Eisenhuth, both of whom earned Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors this season.
