As the final Foothill League football games concluded on Friday, Nov. 1, league standings sorted out pretty much to recent expectations.
Valencia beat West Ranch 35-0 to stand alone as champion at 6-0 in league. Hart defeated Saugus 54-40 to come in second at 5-1. Golden Valley took down Canyon 35-21 to place third at 4-2. Also to recent expectations, these top three in league are all playoff-bound this Friday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m.
The Valencia Vikings, 6-4 overall, will face the Lakewood Lancers, also 6-4 overall, in the CIF Southern Section Division 5 bracket. Lakewood is the Moore League third place team, with a league record of 4-2, and coming off a 44-7 victory over Wilson on Nov. 1. Valencia will be the home team when they meet.
The Hart Hawks, 8-2 overall, will meet the Rancho Verde Mustangs of Morendo Valley, 6-4 overall, in Division 6. Rancho Verde is the number two team from the Ivy League. The Mustangs are coming off a 12-13 loss to Orange Vista on Nov.1, which resulted in a league record of 4-2. Hart hosts as home team on Nov. 8.
The Golden Valley Grizzlies, 8-2 overall, will play the El Toro Chargers of Lake Forest, 5-5, in the Division 7 bracket. The Chargers are the third-place team out of the Iota League, with a league record of 3-2. El Toro is coming off a 24-42 loss to Troy on Nov. 1. Golden Valley will be the home team on Nov. 8.

Although, at this early writing (Nov. 4), location details are slow in coming, and sometimes conflicting, all three local teams are the “home” teams for their games on Nov. 8.
