The Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society has an urgent need for members past, present and future to come to Heritage Junction at William S. Hart Park in Newhall and prepare it for its role in the 2015 Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival in April.
You don’t have to be a member of the society. You do need to be willing to accept the following benefits:
* Working outside in the beautiful Southern California weather.
* Delightful co-workers and supervisors, all working for the same pay and benefits. (Did we mention this is volunteer work?)
* Long hours if you want – or just a few. We are most accommodating in that regard.
Here are some of the positions available:
Groundskeeping, refuse hauling, tending a garden, window cleaning, dusting of valuable artifacts, toting, fetching and carrying all matter of stuff; raking leaves, stacking blocks and bricks.
Other positions too numerous to mention here.
For all this, you get no pay, but you might get to help decide which handle you get to hold while dumping the trash or, for advanced volunteers, which color mop handle you want.
Volunteers accepted on a daily, weekly, monthly or annual basis.
Please call 661-254-1275 immediately (but not after 6 p.m.). Positions are unlimited, and all volunteers will be warmly accepted.
Come preserve and make history for yourself and for generations to follow.
