Wendy’s of Santa Clarita is teaming with the SCV Food Pantry to help provide milk to families in need this holiday season. From now until Christmas Day, anyone who makes a purchase at a Santa Clarita Wendy’s restaurant is invited to mention the SCV Food Pantry and Wendy’s will donate a half-gallon of milk to the organization. The SCV Food Pantry currently provides a half-gallon of milk to every child that qualifies for food support. According to the LA Regional Foodbank and Feeding America, the Milk Money Program in Santa Clarita is the only one of its kind in the nation.
“We are proud of our Milk Money Program. We see it as a real investment in the health and development of young children and we are thrilled to work with Wendy’s to help support this program in Santa Clarita,” said Belinda Crawford, Executive Director of The SCV Food Pantry. “We appreciate the many donations we receive over the holidays. These donations will go a long way to help our clients celebrate with their families.”
Rob Montgomery, owner of Wendy’s of Santa Clarita has seen how seemingly small donations can lead a community to give generously. “By simply visiting one of our four Santa Clarita Wendy’s restaurants and mentioning the SCV Food Pantry, we are making it so easy for families to give important resources to our neighbors who need it the most,” said Montgomery. “We have enjoyed giving back to community organizations that provide services to the residents of Santa Clarita. The SCV Food Pantry is one of those groups that many local residents rely on year-round. We appreciate all that they do and we’re humbled to be able to join them in their efforts this year,” he added.
The SCV Food Pantry has been providing meal support to local families in need for over 25 years. Sixteen percent of local residents earn less than $29,999 per year. Many of these are families with children who, without the services of the SCV Food Pantry, would go without healthy options everyday.
