[Lundgren Mgmt] – Work is in full swing to renovate the Newhall School District’s Historic Auditorium, with Lundgren serving as Construction Manager for the $4.8 million project.
The School District broke ground on the project at Newhall Elementary School March 4, and demolition and abatement work began the following week. The project is expected to wrap up by the end of the year, followed by a grand reopening celebration.
Renamed the Newhall Family Theater for the Performing Arts, the modernized facility will be a high-quality performance space for both students and the community. Designed by NAC Architects, this is the School District’s final project funded by voter-approved Measure E. The auditorium was built in 1941, and the modernization will result in a space with nearly 550 seats, improved acoustics & audio-visual capabilities, a remodeled lobby, expanded stage space and an outdoor patio for receptions.
As the Construction Manager, Lundgren will work closely with all project stakeholders including the School District, Design and Inspection team and all the contractors to ensure there is clear and collaborative communication throughout the process and that work is completed on time and on budget, so this auditorium can once again serve the Santa Clarita Valley Community.
“Lundgren has been with us along the way for numerous projects and we are pleased that the firm will manage this final project under Measure E,” Newhall District Superintendent Paul Cordeiro said. “Renovation of the auditorium is the culminating project of multiple years of voter-approved Measure E building projects.”
