Led Zepagain, the popular Led Zeppelin tribute band set to play Santa Clarita’s Concerts in the Park at Central Park on July 14, was hit by thieves who stole thousands of dollars’ worth of music gear from the group’s equipment van in Morgan Hill, Calif., on Saturday.

“The alarm was cut and years of investment and sentimental value was lifted from the van,” Brenda Wootten, wife of Zepagain bass player Jim Wootten, wrote in a post on a WePay site she set up to accept contributions from fans to replace the gear. At post time, $2,665 had been contributed to the cause.

“This is a major setback as it puts the band in immediate jeopardy of lost revenue as well as capital investment,” Wootten wrote. “The boys are devastated.”

The stolen gear includes vintage guitars, customized amps, effects, high-end microphones and rare drum equipment.
