Plum Canyon Elementary School will hold a “Spring cleaning” fundraiser Saturday, April 21, to help the Class of 2013 get to Camp CIMI in October.
CIMI is the Catalina Island Marine Institute, and Plum Canyon sixth graders spend a week there to study marine biology and ecology. The camp enriches and inspires students “through a variety of experiential marine science labs and field activities, providing learning opportunities that are simply not possible in a traditional classroom.”
On Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., bring your “gently used” household items to Plum Canyon school at 28360 N. Alfred Way in Saugus, where a Goodwill truck will pick them up and haul them away. Items can also be dropped off by valet at the school now through Friday, April 20.
Also, from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., Confidential Data Destruction will accept your documents such as old tax returns, receipts and medical records for shredding, at $2 per banker’s box-size amount of papers.
For more information or to schedule a pickup, call 661-993-3834 or send e-mail to mmendoza75@sbcglobal.net.
