Calling all local authors: the Santa Clarita Public Library and the Friends of the Santa Clarita Public Library are looking for local writers to spotlight at next year’s fourth annual Celebration of Local Authors event, which will be held at the Old Town Newhall Library.
This popular event will return on Saturday, January 14, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Old Town Newhall Library, located at 24500 Main Street.
Local authors interested in applying to be part of the fourth annual Celebration of Local Authors event must complete and submit an application by Sunday, November 13, 2016. The application is available online at SantaClaritaFOL.com or SantaClaritaLibrary.com. Paper applications are also available at each Santa Clarita Public Library branch.
Last year the event highlighted 53 local authors and provided residents with the special opportunity to learn more about the author’s work, participate in questions and answer workshops, and purchase signed books.
The fourth annual event will include space for up to 50 authors and will once again include moderated panel discussions and opportunities for authors to sell and sign books. The entire community is invited to attend the free programming.
The Friends of Santa Clarita Public Library is an active group of Santa Clarita residents who volunteer, advocate and fundraise to meet the needs of the Santa Clarita Public Library. All of the proceeds from the fundraising efforts and programs sponsored by the Friends of Santa Clarita Public Library go towards providing new materials and programming.
