Box City is the annual fundraiser for Family Promise of Santa Clarita Valley. It’s an event that asks the question, “What would it be like if the only place you had to sleep was inside a cardboard box?”
Every dollar raised from Box City goes to help Family Promise take care of local homeless kids
& their families. (Did you know there are more than 700 homeless students in the SCV)?
Box City is a great way to raise awareness about homelessness while having a great time. At the event there will even be a family who has graduated from our program to share their story.
Participants sign up, get sponsors grab some boxes and duck tape, recruit a bunch of friends, and spend the night at Valencia Heritage Park. We have music, food, games, raffles & more. And everyone is invited.
We have an all-star team of volunteers who help put this event together. Want to help with the raffle? Food? Photography? Registration? Box decorating? Advertising? Recruiting youth through schools or churches?
For more information or for volunteer opportunities, visit http://www.familypromisescv.org/?page_id=239.
Registration begins Friday, Aug. 24.
Box City 2018 will take place Saturday, Sept. 29. Time to be determined.
Family Promise of SCV is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving homeless families in the Santa Clarita Valley area.

What do you actually do to help the homeless? So much money has been raise by so many different agencies, even million from sales tax increases etc., and I have yet to see any housing or anything other than meetings ti plan what never gets done. Although I am sure they all get paid out of the funds for showing up at these meetings. In downtown Los Angeles they are building all kinds of new office buildings etc, Here in Lancaster they brag about serving 600 meals a week, and that does not feed hardly o, just would like to see something actually take fruition.
Thank you
