Nonprofit arts organizations in Los Angeles County interested in working with college interns during the summer may now apply to participate in the Los Angeles County Arts Internship Grant Program.
For the first time, grantees of the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture’s Community Impact Arts Grant (CIAG) may also apply to participate to support their arts programming. The deadline is October 23, 2019.
The program provides undergraduate students with paid on-the-job training and experience working in nonprofit arts management, while offering organizations an opportunity to foster and develop future arts leaders. Internships last 400 hours between June and August.
The Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture will provide grants to fund more than 200 internships at nonprofit organizations with arts programming throughout the region.
Organizations interested in hiring a summer intern can apply to receive grants of $5,000 to $6,500 per intern, depending on budget size, to be used to pay students.
The program is for Los Angeles County nonprofit organizations interested in mentoring an undergraduate college student for 400 hours during summer 2020 that:
– Are cultural organizations including performing, presenting, film, media, arts service, municipal and literary arts organizations, OR
– received funding through the Community Impact Arts Grant, which supports arts programming taking place at nonprofit social service and social justice organizations, municipal departments, and institutions of higher education as part of larger missions to provide services to individuals and communities.
