The Santa Clarita Community College District Board of Trustees will hold a Business Meeting Wednesday, Aug. 10.
The board will meet in closed session at 4 p.m. to perform a public employee performance evualuation of University Center, College of the Canyons Chancellor/President.
The board will then meet in open session at 5 p.m. in the University Center, Room 301 on the campus of College of the Canyons, located at 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road, Valencia, CA. 91355.
In addition to discussing proposed contracts and other business, the board is expected to vote on an amendment to Dianne Van Hook’s contract extending it to 2026. Her salary will remain at $375,238 annually at the rate of $31,270 per month.
The amendment to her contract includes a provision that will extend Van Hook’s contract annually each year upon completion of a satisfactory performance evaluation.
The provision reads: “On or before June 30, 2023, and yearly thereafter, the ending date of the contract may be extended for an additional year, subject to the Chancellor, Santa Clarita Community College District and President, College of the Canyons receiving a satisfactory performance evaluation by the Board of Trustees.”
Van Hook will continue to receive additional funds to pay for her package of benefits which includes disability, term life and liability insurance as well as long-term care and supplemental retirement health, dental and vision care.
Van Hook will also receive an eight-week sabbatical to be taken at a mutually agreed-upon time between August 2022 and June 2023.
