Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital is expanding the services it offers at its community Health Fairs.
“We want to offer even more health resources to our community” said Emily Kim, Henry Mayo Marketing and Community Benefit Specialist. “The screenings and resources we’ve offered in the past will still be available, along with additional health and education resources.”
In addition to cholesterol/glucose checks, blood pressure screenings, carotid artery screenings, body mass Index checks, and informational booths on stroke, diabetes and nutrition, August’s Health Fair will offer information and resources on mental health, Hands-Only CPR lessons, an interactive medical inflatable lungs exhibit, and an “Ask the Pharmacist” session. Attendees can bring their current medications (or a list of medications and vitamins) to the event and have an on-site pharmacist review them for concerns and possible adverse interactions.
We look forward to welcoming Santa Clarita residents to our new, expanded health fair,” Kim said. “Our hope is to expand the reach of our screening and education efforts.”
Henry Mayo’s health fair will be held on Friday, Aug. 23, from 7:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at the Newhall Community Center, located at 22421 Market Street in Newhall. The health fair is open to the community; admission and health screenings are free. No appointment is necessary.
