Former Santa Clarita Councilman TimBen Boydston is one of seven applicants to fill a vacancy on the Hart High School Board.
The vacancy was created when Distirict 3 board member Robert Hall resigned pending is relocation for a 15-month assignment with Advanced Bionics/Sonova in Singapore.
District 3 covers southern part of the Santa Clarita Valley and encompasses portions of the Golden Valley and Hart High School attendance areas, and applicants for the position must live there.
The applicants are:
Ann-Marie Bjorkman
TimBen Boydston
Kenneth Dean
Noe Garcia
Cherise Moore
Hilary Schardein
Teresa Todd
The school board will interview the applicants and announce a decision during a public meeting on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, beginning at 6 p.m.
The new board member will be sworn in on April 19 and will complete the remainder of Hall’s term, which expires December 2018.
All of the applicants have been vetted through the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder’s office and found to be in compliance with California Education Code 35107, which states an applicant interested in becoming a Governing Board member must be a registered voter and 18 years of age or older.
