CHP and Sheriffs need to tighten up on speeding in town. Tickets don’t always do it but in the end unsafe driving will have the highest penalty.
This isn’t law enforcements fault in anyway, so please dont presume so. He mistakenly chose to speed and paid the consequences of that. Please urge your loved ones to drive safely to prevent less tragedies.
Who said it was ? No one who commented stated this was law enforcements fault. I said they need to tighten up on it. Last week your paper reported two drivers were cited yes cited for doing 107 and 99 mph in town. We just read what you guys report. No ones presuming anything.
I agree speed may have been a factor, however if you looked at the pictures from the crash site and what you will see is skid marks from the semi that start in the middle of the south bound lane. Which means the semi’s cabin was facing north in the south bound lane and back of the semi was also blocking the north bound. There was no place for the driver to go, but to hit him. If the semi needed both lanes to maneuver his truck into the lot….He should have had two people stopping traffic in each direction.
