Los Angeles County firefighters are battling a small brush fire that started near Tesoro Del Valle Drive and Rancho Tesoro Drive in Valencia Monday morning.
“The call came in at 10:48 a.m. and we dispatched units at 10:50 a.m.,” LACoFD Inspector Sal Alvarado said at 11:20 a.m.
“It was a first-alarm response, and the first units reported seeing smoke about half a mile out,” Alvarado said. “When they arrived on the scene at 10:56, they saw it was a half-acre fuel-driven fire that was burning uphill.”
Alvarado said the Tesoro Fire seemed to be holding at half an acre, and that no structures are threatened. No injuries have been reported, he said.
He said the cause of the fire was unknown but was under investigation.
