Several Santa Clarita high schools and junior highs spread random acts of kindness through encouraging notes and giving compliments to students they never met on National Mix-It-Up Day Tuesday.
At Sierra Vista Junior High in Canyon Country, students were given yellow cards with different emojis on them and asked to find another student with the same emoji during lunch. Those students then asked each other questions before returning their emoji cards in the quad where they received a piece of candy.
At Canyon High School, teachers greeted every student at the start of the day with a quote on a slip of paper. The students were asked to pass on the quote to someone they didn’t know but passed every day.
At Rancho Pico Junior High, 7th graders were asked to meet an 8th grader and find something they have in common. This was written down and placed on a large poster made for the day.
While Mix-It-Up Day was celebrated nationwide on Tuesday, several other schools in the Hart District plan to hold their days of kindness and compliments in the coming days and weeks.
