The nonprofit Los Angeles County Animal Care Foundation will host a “Wild for Animals” benefit at Centre Pointe Plaza in Santa Clarita to raise funds for the Castaic Animal Care Center on Saturday, May 19 starting at 6 p.m.
All proceeds from the event will go toward medical equipment to help the homeless animals cared for at the shelter.
While there will be no adoptions at this event, but the Castaic Shelter will display photos and provide information about pets available for adoption.
An appetizer and cocktail party will honor SCV pets, pet stores and rescue people and organizations that help animals. All local pet rescue organizations have also been invited.
Special guests slated to attend include Rep. Steve Knight (R-Santa Clarita), Sen. Scott Wilk (R-Palmdale), County of LA Animal Care and Control Director Marcia Mageda and Castaic Animal Care Center Director Karen Stepp. Richard and Kiza Hilton will serve as event hosts.
Also confirmed to attend are Eileen Smulson and per associate Brad from Operation Blankets of Love. They are the rock stars of SoCal for caring for animals without homes, serving almost 50 animal shelters and helping more than 1,500 homeless animals every year.
Donations will be accepted at the event’s entrance. New or gently used blankets and towels, dog or cat food, or other miscellaneous pet supplies are suggested.
Advance tickets are $40 per person, or $50 at the event, and are tax-deductible.
