Mustangs golfer Sam Eisenhuth found his groove last month in Ventura. Apparently, he packed that mojo for this week’s trip to Oregon.
The Master’s University senior shot a team-best, 1-over 72 on Tuesday in the third and final round of the Coastal Collegiate Classic in Gleneden Beach, Oregon.
Eisenhuth carded a 216 for the tournament, good for a share of seventh place.
The Mustangs finished fifth out of 16 teams with a collective score of 900. It was the third straight fifth-place finish for a Master’s team that was in third place after two rounds before a steep slide Tuesday.
Robert Penalber finished tied for 15th individually. He was one of three Master’s athletes to sit at 144 after two rounds at Salishan Spa & Golf Resort. Eisenhuth and Josh Delo were the other two.
Delo finished tied for 33rd on the week. Freshman Josh Kehl followed in 38th place, and Karsten Briley came in tied for 66th.
For Eisenhuth, it was the second straight tournament where he led the way for Master’s in scoring. At the CA State Intercollegiate in September, he shot a final-round 67 to finish tied for fifth individually.
Here are the full results.
The Mustangs will next be in action on Nov. 13 in Phoenix at the Firestorm Fall Invite, played at Moon Valley Country Club.
