Good vibes generated by a two-match winning streak in conference hit a road bump Friday night, as The Master’s University women’s volleyball team lost 3-0 at Menlo College by scores of 25-15, 25-22 and 25-23.
“Tonight the girls second-guessed the game plan and played reactionary volleyball,” said Mustang coach Allan Vince. “This did not allow them to sustain a consistent lead. The biggest lesson that we will take away from tonight is to trust the game plan, play to our strengths and stay unified, especially on the road.”
Madi Fay led the Mustangs with seven kills. Kayla Sims recorded 11 assists, and McKenna Hafner had 15 digs.
Master’s will finish its first road trip of Golden State Athletic Conference play Saturday when they travel to Rocklin to take on William Jessup.
The match starts at 2 p.m.
