Santa Clarita Sports Report: June 1, 2015 – It will be a Foothill League semifinal in the CIF Southern Section Division 1 baseball playoffs.
Hart will play Saugus in the semifinals on Tuesday.
The Hart baseball team knocked out JSerra, 10-6, in their quarterfinal game.
Hart scored five runs in the fifth inning to break a 5-5 tie. Robert Reeves knocked in three runs in the inning with a bases-loaded double.
The Saugus baseball team beat Arlington, 3-2, scoring the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Brendan Griffith knocked in the game-winner with a two-out, RBI single.
Hart and Saugus will play in the semifinals at College of the Canyons on Tuesday.
The Valencia baseball team lost to Norco, 9-3, in the quarterfinals of the playoffs.
The Santa Clarita Christian baseball team beat Apple Valley, 4-2, to reach the semifinals of the Southern Section Division 7 playoffs.
The Trinity Classical Academy baseball team lost to Excelsior Charter, 21-0, in the quarterfinals of the Southern Section Division 7 playoffs.
In high school softball, West Ranch beat Murrieta Valley, 2-1, to advance to the semifinals in the Southern Section Division 1 playoffs.
West Ranch is in the semifinals of the CIF playoffs for the first time in school history.
In auto racing, Gabby Chaves, driving for Bryan Herta Autosport, posted his first top-10 finish of the season in the Verizon Indy CarSeries Dual in Detroit.
Chaves was ninth in the second race in the Dual in Detroit. He was 18th in the first race.
Carlos Munoz won the first race. Sebastien Bourdais won the second.

In the major leagues, the Dodgers lost to the St. Louis Cardinals, 3-1. The Dodgers dropped two of three games to the Cardinals over the weekend.
They are off to Colorado to start a series against the Rockies tonight. First pitch is at 5:40.
