The Santa Clarita Public Library invites residents of all ages to discover, play and explore the world of nature, wildlife and geology at the inaugural event “Discover Day 2017: Discover, Play, Explore” at the Valencia Public Library on Saturday, September 16 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Discover Day 2017 is free and open to explorers of all ages.
From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., guests will be treated to a special presentation about the world-famous Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park located in Agua Dulce. A representative from the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation will share how these giant tilted rock formations were formed roughly 20 million years ago.
From 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., the Placerita Canyon Nature Center will host “Live Animals!” — a live-animal learning presentation that will introduce guests to some of Santa Clarita’s furry and scaly neighbors! Come learn about the animals that share our environment and the importance of preserving their natural habitats.
Guests will also enjoy crafts, a scavenger hunt, educational displays and much more.
The Valencia Public Library is located at 23743 Valencia Boulevard, Valencia 91355.
