It was a feel-good afternoon for The Master’s University women’s soccer team at TMU on Sunday.
Six different Mustangs scored in an 8-0 win over Mills College, the non-conference win lifting Master’s to 6-2-1 on the season and extending its winning streak to three.
The Mustangs haven’t lost since Aug. 24.
Six of Sunday’s goals came in a 12-minute span that began in the 39th minute and carried over to the early moments of the second half.
Kyndel Borman scored first. Payton Williams, Hailey Gomillion and Sierra Carrasco followed. For Gomillion, it was an encore to Saturday night when she netted a golden goal in the 105th minute to deliver a 1-0 win over Marymount California University on the road.
The Mustangs didn’t get much of a break. They didn’t need one.
Reigning Golden State Athletic Conference co-Player of the Year Jasmine Logan scored her first two goals of the season. One in the 47th minute and another four minutes later.
Carrasco scored again in the 75th minute, and Hannah Bahr closed the afternoon with another goal. Lilly Duncan earned the shutout in goal.
If you’re wondering, it would have taken another eight goals to match the program single-game record. The Mustangs beat Pacific Christian College 16-0 in 1997.
Here’s the box score.
