The WiSH Educational Foundation is preparing two events to raise money for the William S. Hart Union High School District.
The WISH 10k/5k “Run For Gold” will take place Sunday, February 24, with a start time at 8 a.m. A Kid-K race will also be held starting at 7:45 a.m.
Runners can register for the event at Placerita Junior High School in Santa Clarita beginning at 7:00 a.m. Those interested can also pre-register at www.active.com. The entry fee for adult participants is $30 with a “Run for Gold” T-shirt or $25 without. Entry for kids is $15 with a T-shirt and $10 without. Runners under 5 may run free of charge.
Participants are invited to stay for a free breakfast hosted by the SCV Rotary Club immediately following the race. Non-runners may also attend the breakfast event for $4. Run For Gold is sponsored by California Credit Union, Runners Lane and Jersey Mike’s.
Separately, WiSH is sponsoring a benefit for the future leaders of Santa Clarita, to be held at the Old Town Newhall Library on Saturday, April 13 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The “Toast and a WiSH” benefit will feature wine tasting and prepared foods from the best local chefs in Santa Clarita.The event will also include a silent auction.
Sponsorships for the “Toast and a WiSH” event are being offered for $10,000, $7,500, $5,000, $2,500 and $1,000. Ticket holders to this event are projected to be known, local philanthropists. The WiSH Education Foundation is the official private-fundraising organization for the William S. Hart Union High School District, a 23,000 student high-performing school district in Santa Clarita.
